Fitoor Episode 4 Police scene

PAKISTANI DRAMAS AND PORTRAYAL OF POLICE

Fitoor Drama Episode 4

Please Meri Izzat Mat Uchalein

Pakistani Dramas have always portrayed police as the end all be all of the justice systems.

In doing so these dramas have been spreading the belief that police have near unchecked authority to arrest people, interrogate them and then go through their phones or even search their homes on a whim.

Such a scene was seen in Fitoor Episode 4 where Police arrive at the doorstep of Mr. Yawar Ahmed and demands that he and his sister Dilnasheen come with them for interrogation because of their suspected involvement with the disappearance of Sadiq Hamza. So MR. Yawar, instead of asking if the police had a warrant, or instead of calling their lawyer dragged himself and his sister alongside her phone to the police station.

There the police interrogate in a very disrespectful manner and insult the integrity of his sister. Instead of shutting the police officer up and demanding a lawyer, he cries and begs for mercy as his sister’s honor is questioned and insulted.

Setting aside how Yawar insults and berates his sister for lack of his education regarding how to deal with the police, this display in drama is also a disgusting disservice to the society and spreads fear of police that allows the bad apples among them to harass the common folks.

Courts, not the police, can declare someone guilty. Everyone has a right to freedom and legal counsel and you can never be forced to talk to the police, let alone sit there and get insulted with your sister. Yawar also unlocks his sister's private conversation on her phone for the police WITHOUT A WARRANT FOR IT and then pathetically plays “Holier than Thou” as he whimpers like a kid before going home and beating his sister.

Things to remember:

Just never talk to the police, always demand a lawyer if you get arrested. If stopped by the police and they start asking questions you have the right to remain silent and ask only for a lawyer. NEVER let the police inside your house without a proper judicial warrant and never had over your personal property without a warrant for that specific property. Remember only courts can punish you after a proper trial. Remember to force your rights to freedom and civil powers.

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi (The Harsh Realities of Life)

Ranjha Ranjha kardi drama main cover

The 'Ranjha Ranjha Kardi' complot is based on the brave, lovely, and idealistic Noor Bano. Every day, her parents have been searching for articles of the smallest value from childhood to support the family in the trash of the village for a pittance. Noor hates the fact that her parents are waste purchasers and that it was not an option for her to live out waste. She is going to a big city and begins to work in a factory in order to earn a respectable life.

This drama shows the avarice that is a person's greatest enemy. It also shows a woman who rescued her husband from devastation's brevity and intelligence. A woman who settles and compromises her suffering, tragic and inappropriate situations. We tend to reflect these women as home-builders, spiritually-oriented idols who give up, visions, and live for their families, how unfair this is! Noori was about to have a child compromise living in the same family where she has been raped, doubted, and asked to leave for adultery on one occasion. The drama also seems to justify or make it all strange by making Bhola in the end mentally stable. The way we persuade our women and make them feel that half their lives and half their respects should be okay is both hurtful and difficult. The problem is, unfortunately, that most women of the country appear to believe that this is the right way to do so.

Baaghi (An underwhelming end to an overwhelming drama)

Baaghi drama main cover

The life of a woman in a typical Pakistani village is the life of Qandeel Baloch. Poor families in Pakistan and underprivileged men prefer men in all phases of life. Women obey their husbands and have no say in their lives ' main decisions.

The stories of Qandeel Baloch and Kanwal Baloch (the name of the dramatic character) are in many respects similar. Qandeel was actually confronted with similar situations. Many people called her Pakistan's Kim Kardashian but Qandeel was poor, without a socio-economic privilege. She was – a girl without anybody around her support or help. Her provocative social media posts, to which she was relentlessly shamed by those same men who went to her Facebook page to see her and send her hateful or lewd comments, helped her to gain fame.  Qandeel was murdered by her brother who said she was ‘tarnishing the Baloch name’ and of late Mufti Qavi, an ex-member of the moon-sighting committee was also booked under the charges of Qandeel’s murder. Qandeel's father insisted that the assassination of Qandeel had been instigated by Qavi. The risk of this serial is to overlap Qandeel's own image with the original, be it a feminist icon or a moralizing lesson. She knew alone how much was real and fantasy about the shocking person she projected. "There are many young women who want to be a model but exploited in the same way as Qandeel, there is not one Qandeel in the infected society of Pakistan," said Baaghi. So Baaghi is Qandeel's story with multiple girls like her.

He killed Idris(David) who was about to tell everything to Osman Bey but running from that place, Dundar’s ring came off of his finger and fell down which was picked up by Malhun Hatun (daughter of Omer Bey). Konur revealed the fact to Osman Bey that Kongar is his long-lost brother. Upon telling this fact, they tried to recall Kongar that he was a Muslim and was lost somewhere after Mongols attacked their tribe. As Kongar was stuck and helpless, he thought that the only way to escape is to fake it in front of the Alps and Osman Bey. They all thought that Kongar has actually become a part of them, but as soon as he was alone with his brother, he pounced onto his brother (Konur Alp) and killed him. In this way, he betrayed Osman Bey. Later Osman Bey showed him an agreement that stated the fact that he was sold to Balgay in a slave market. This made him realize and ashamed that he had killed his own brother and then he reverted to Islam and became Osman’s main alp named Goktug Alp.
