Constructed on the actual activities of the partition of 1947, the series depicts the occasions of rioting and chaos in 1947. It's far based on the novel Bano via Razia butt. This is basically a love story with some sturdy messages

Suraiya (Saba Qamar) is Hassan's aunt and is getting married to bano’s eldest brother, Saleem. Hassan, a young scholar, comes to Ludhiana to attend his aunt’s wedding in which he meets bano. Slowly they each fall in love with each other.  Even as bano’s circle of relatives supports the Indian congress, she becomes a supporter of the Muslim League, Hassan and bano get engaged and Suraya is pregnant. Hassan gets a task and leaves together with his mom to his new residence promising bano he'll come returned.

One night time, bano’s house is raided by Hindu and Sikh rioters and everybody in her family dies. Her mom tries to choke her to death. Her brother’s friends come and prevent bano’s mother from killing her and assist them to go away, however, one in all Saleem's Hindu friend tries to rape her. Bano and her mother searching for shelter in a Muslim camp, however, the camp is attacked and bano is raped. A Sikh named basant Singh finds and takes her home. Bano writes letters to Hassan, but basant in no way can provide them. Basant and his mother call her Sundar Kaur, which means lovely princess in Punjabi. Bano attempts to run away, however is stuck with the aid of basant and he rapes her, marries her, and forces her to end up a sikhni. She gives to delivery to Basant's child and after many years, bano pushes basant off the roof inflicting his death.

She takes her son away to Pakistan, which is totally special from Pakistan she imagined it'd come to be. She eventually gets jobs in Pakistan, one a caretaker and the other a secretary. Hassan meets Rabia and gets engaged to her. He then finds out that bano is in Pakistan and brings her to stay with him. He breaks off her engagement, but later has the same opinion to marry Rabia. Rabia cares for bano and makes a decision to break off her marriage on her wedding day. She is looking forward to bano returning on her wedding ceremony day, in order that bano can marry Hassan. But, at her administrative center, the man is working for attempts to assault her and she kills him. Bano comes to Hassan and tells him that she killed basant. Rabia and Hassan get married and she or he is admitted right into an intellectual asylum. Hassan and bano go to her and she or he asks them how her Pakistan is. The drama ends with Hassan and Rabia leaving and bano chanting long live Pakistan.
